CLINICAL and forensic psychologist.
DR ALICIA TANNER (SHE/HER)
I am an AHPRA registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. I have extensive experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families with a range of complex mental health and forensic issues. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I held non-clinical positions (academic and advocacy work) within educational and mental health systems that have enhanced my current clinical practice.
My therapeutic approach is based on warmth, curiosity, and authenticity. I truly value the therapeutic relationship in creating a safe, non-judgemental, and empathic space for clients to feel heard and understood. I operate from a collaborative, strengths-based perspective grounded in evidence-based care, and I use a blend of therapeutic frameworks to create highly individualised treatment plans, aimed at assisting clients to make real, meaningful change and improve their quality of life. I aim to blend my clinical knowledge and skills with my personal strengths, including relatability, humour, and openness to the lived experience of others.
I feel privileged to bear witness to and support my clients through the vulnerable process of therapy.
